This post brought to you by Pier 1 Imports. All opinions are 100% mine.
Pier 1 Imports recently sent me a gift card and asked me to do some holiday entertaining shopping then blog about it. Well, what are the two things I know I can do best in life. Shop. And write. So of course, I took them up on their offer and now I want to show you all my fab finds from one of my favorite holiday decor stores. (I just love the variety of decor trends they offer each year, from glitz and glam to traditional greenery and natural elements.)
I went shopping the first day and bought a few different things to see what I could work with and what I couldn’t. To be honest, I made four trips to Pier 1 for this project and ended up spending $12 of my own money after a few exchanges and returns. So all in all, I spent $62 and was able to create two different table settings for dinners for the hubby and I and a great little buffet set-up for a holiday party.
My last trip to Pier 1 was on Black Friday, and holy smokes, they had sold pretty much everything! But no worries, after a little digging around, I found some great holiday entertaining pieces, and they were all on sale that day! Score for me!
When I first walked into Pier 1, I noticed this cute table set-up.
I loved the white wooden chargers and the ornaments that served as place holder. And look at those adorable ruffled candy cane patterned plates. This is such a fun set-up and it made me think this is what a table in Whooville would look like. (How The Grinch Stole Christmas is one of my all-time favorite movies and one day I secretly want to have a room that is decorated like Whooville.)
Check out these awesome candy cane striped glasses
If I didn’t already have waaaaaaay too many glasses, I would definitely bought a set of the margarita or tall drink glasses.
And if you plan on hosting a big Christmas party for all your friends this year, Pier 1 is where you want to shop. Check out the paper plates and disposable party accessories.
So many napkins to choose from and those paper coasters have the cutest holiday sayings on them.
But anywhooo, after my four trips and really annoying the sales people with my goal of getting exactly what I needed for this holiday season, I finally had everything I needed.

Here’s a breakdown of the goods:
1 red lacquernbsp;tray- $7.99 (on sale)
2 red bowls- $2.50/each
2 blue votive holders- $1.50/each (on sale)
4 clear votive holders- $0.50/each (on sale)
1 pack of 30 votives- $5.94 (on sale)
1 pack of 6 wine rings- $7.95
4 gift boxes- $1.00/each
2 red snowflake placemats- $2.95/each
2 candy bowls- $6.75/each (on sale)
Not pictured: 1 pack of tree gift tags- $6.00
The first table setting I made was a blue/silver/white theme (kind of like a winter wonderland). I already had tons of silver decorations and white and blue dishes, so the blue and clear votive holders fit in just perfectly.

Very simple and yet very romantic when all the candles are lit. This would be such a beautiful setting to come home to after work for a nice, romantic dinner with my hunny. *Hint, hint, wink, wink*
The next setting I made was this cute little red and green set-up. Although I only set this up for two people, I am considering going back and buying enough stuff to make four settings for a dinner I’m having next week with some friends. I love the bright colors and the fun placemats and name cards.

The last set-up I made was for a buffet table for a holiday party. The little gift boxes are perfect for party favors and I love the wine rings- perfect for determining whose glass is whose. And I would have nuts, candy or snacks in the little candy-shaped dishes.

What do you think? Have you gone to Pier 1 yet to check out all their great deals on holiday entertaining items? If not, you definitely need to go check it out!
