DIY Christmas Card Wreath

I was feeling crafty on Sunday, and after driving to three different stores, I finally found all the supplies I needed to create what I had in mind….

I first saw these glittery clothespins on Pinterest and immediately fell in love with them…

And then I found this awesome clothespin wreath for holding Christmas Cards…

… and decided to combine the two. My idea isn’t original, but I loved the wreath and decided to do my own colors of glittery clothespins to make it.

I started with a pack of clothespins, some craft paint and a wooden letter “O”. Some people use a wire wreath form or just a hanger to attach the clothespins, but I’m a perfectionist and needed something already round to guide my clothespins.

Then I painted all the clothespins red, green and white… which ended up being twice as many as I needed. OOps! After that I added a couple of layers of clear glitter paint so I could still see the color underneath.

Next I painted the wooden “O” because you will be able to see in between the clothespins.

Then I laid them all out to make sure there were an even number of each color… again, I’m a perfectionist!

After I laid them all out, I hot glued them on and waited for everything to dry.

In the end, I had my glitter clothespin Christmas card wreath!

They aren’t as glittery as I thought they would be, but I kind of like the subtleness of it. I glued the top two clothespins opposite of the rest so I could put our Christmas card in the middle. That is last year’s card, I’m still waiting for this years to arrive!

W
