Featured Lubbock Blogger: Twenty Three Oh One

I love finding a new blog that is full of inspiration. Especially when the blogger lives in my own town. And has a beagle. And a husband that coaches. And is somewhat a newlywed. And no, I didn’t find my own blog, but it is a little crazy how many things I have in common with Katy from Twenty Three Oh One.

Her blog header is just too cute, and that wedding picture there on the left, yah, that’s from her wedding that was featured in The Knot Colorado. This chick has some major talent when it comes to all things design, from their house to cute invites and birthday cards that you can find in her Etsy shop.

Her latest project included cleaning out her craft room and garage. Just take a look at this before and after and you’ll see why I’m going to secretly convince her to come over and clean out our garage. And she did this in one weekend. I think I’ve been working on ours for about two months…

Now let’s take a look around inside, because this is where the magic really is. She has taken their basic builder-grade home and turned it into something that could be the setting for all Pottery Barn photo shoots. We’ll start in the living room, where she has mastered the art of combining different textures and woods to create a space that is warm and inviting.

The biggest change in their living room, besides the floor, is the fireplace. Here, you can see the original, boring fireplace, which they completely redid to really fit their style.

I’m loving theirĀ laundry room. I would definitely not mind doing laundry if it meant spending time in this cottage-inspired room. The stripes are so subtle, yet they make such an impact.

The first project I ever saw on Katy’s blog was her guest room. I just happened to randomly click on her link at a blog party and started digging around her blog. That’s when I discovered we lived within 20 minutes of each other and I just had to get in touch with her. Look at the before and after of their guest room headboard. She chose such a gorgeous fabric and it really enhances the style of the room!

And then there is her new garden. Her mom helped her and her husband a few weekends ago with getting their new garden beds all set up. I can’t wait to see what it looks like once things start growing and blooming. You check out her mom’s gardening blog here.

So that’s all I’m going to show you here, but you should head on over to her blog and check it out! I promise, you will love everything you see!

And I’m hoping to actually meet Katy in person here soon, I have made such good friends here in Lubbock through blogging. Kind of funny that we all meet online when we live within a 10 mile radius of each other!

There are very few of us! I find about one or two new ones a week. We need to have a blogger meet-up one day!
