About

This is the cliché story of a city girl and a country boy.

I met Ryan in 2007 while I was working at a local clothing shop during college. I had just gotten back from studying abroad in Spain and traveling around Germany with my family. I’m a city girl who wanted to live the after-college dream and move to NYC after graduation to become the next “big thing” in the event planning industry. Ryan was the motorcycle-riding, tobacco-dipping, long-haired “country” boy that I never thought I’d fall for. Athletes and musicians were more my style, but I hadn’t had much luck down those roads, so I gave it a shot. Although he was a tough guy on the outside, inside I found a heart of gold that had a soft spot for dogs and Charlie Brown.

We first flirted on Facebook and joked about turning his living room into the ultimate baseball-watching man cave. It included a lot of sunflower seeds and peanuts, a fake scoreboard and a tarp. He met my parents about two weeks after that, before we were actually “dating”. From there, the rest is history.

We bought our first home in August of 2009, where I lived until the wedding on May 22, 2010.

We are currently a family of four. We have two kiddos, Bronx (a beagle) and Torre (a lab-pit bull mix). We’re both 24, but when we’re together, we act 12, and we’re enjoying life as it comes. We’re in no hurry to rush into anything we’re not ready for. Currently, we call West Texas our home, but someday we dream of moving to the Northeast to enjoy a little cooler weather. We enjoy doing everything together, and for most of our relationship, we even worked together (although that will change when Ryan starts teaching in the fall).

I started this blog back in April of 2009 as a photography blog, but let’s be honest, I’m not much of a photographer. I didn’t really do much with it until August, when we decided to archive our adventures together for our family and friends. This blog is a mix of everything great about the married life, from home reno/remodeling, photography, travel, cooking/baking and everything in between. There are home bloggers, craft bloggers and mommy bloggers, but I would consider myself a life blogger.

I was in Albuquerque, Thursday night. We traveled the Utah area and was going to end our trip with the balloons. We woke up Friday to lightning and the rest of my group did not want to stay around to see if the balloons went up. Please let me know what happened Friday. Also your husband is wearing a Nebraska jersey, just a fan or a native. Diane from Omaha

The TLC network is looking for fun, outgoing couples who live together in the Los Angeles area for their new home makeover show “Our House.”

(with a little help from your friends and the occasional plumber).

We’re looking for married couples, dating couples, new home owners, long-time residents, couples who are strapped for cash and couples who just need a change. Whatever your story — as long as you own your house and want TLC to pay you to re-invent it — we want to hear from you!
